Nevada Promise Scholarship
Description: The Nevada Promise Scholarship is a unique scholarship established by the Nevada Legislature for Nevada high school graduates to attend community college. As a last-dollar scholarship, the Nevada Promise Scholarship can cover up to three years of tuition and other mandatory fees not covered by other gift aid. If you are part of the graduating class of 2023, make sure to apply during the application period (August through October), and keep current on the ongoing application steps.

Step 3: Submit the Nevada Promise Mentoring Support Authorization Form (Preferred Deadline: January 1st)
Step 4: Complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA
Step 5: Complete the Nevada Promise Mandatory Training
Step 6: Take a Placement Test or submit ACT or SAT Test Scores
Step 7: Complete the Financial Aid Verification Process
Step 8: Meet with an Academic Advisor & Register for Classes
Step 9: Report Community Service Hours (Deadline: June 1st)
Step 10: Meet with your Assigned Mentor (Deadline: June 1st)

Nevada Public Education Foundation Scholarship |

Millennium Scholarship |
Description: The Millennium Scholarship is a maximum $10,000 award paid on a per-credit hour basis, up to 15 credits each semester. Millennium Scholars at a NSHE community college will receive $40 per credit hour. Students at a NSHE state college will receive $60 per credit hour. Millennium Scholars at all other eligible institutions will receive $80 per enrolled credit hour.
QuestBridge Scholarship Program
Description: QuestBridge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1994. Black Community Organization Network (BCON) Scholarship
Description: The Black Community Organizations Network (BCON) will offer $500 book scholarships to African-American high school graduating seniors. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide additional financial assistance to young adults during their freshman year at a college or university of their choice. (Scholarships are not offered to graduates entering any Military Academy.)

Scholarship Opportunity from Sparkling Ice - $5,000 Flavorful Futures Scholarship
Description: The deadline to apply for a Sparkling Ice® Flavorful Futures scholarship is approaching. If you know someone who meets the criteria below, we invite you to share this opportunity with them, they could win a $5,000 scholarship!
Applicants must meet ALL the following criteria:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident of the United States.
- Must be a high school senior graduating between August 1, 2021 and July 31, 2022.
- Must have a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4 point scale (high school/home schooled seniors).

Evan Berman T.E.A.C.H. Academy Memorial Scholarship
Description: The purpose and goal of this scholarship is to promote the educational philosophy of Mr. Evan Berman. We seek to provide a scholarship in the name of Evan Berman for the purpose of providing a monetary award to a T.E.A.C.H. Academy graduating senior who fulfills the scholarship requirements.
This is a non-renewable scholarship in the amount of $500.00

The Actuarial Foundation Scholarship
Description: The Actuarial Foundation, The International Association of Black Actuaries, and the Organization of Latinx Actuaries ensures the future of the actuarial profession through its scholarships and reimbursement programs. Recipients of Foundation scholarships are selected by representatives of the actuarial profession, who may one day be their peers. So, not only are these scholarships a means to offset the cost of education, but they also serve as a prestigious recognition by a highly rated profession.
What is an Actuary?
An actuary is a professional with a strong math background who analyzes risk. We typically work in the insurance industry (i.e. life insurance, health insurance, and property and casualty insurance).
The actuarial profession has been consistently ranked among top jobs, and we would love for Latines to consider this profession. For more information on the profession, please visit this website.
Scholarship Details
OLA furthers its mission of increasing the number of Latine actuaries by awarding academic scholarships to US-based Latines. Applications will be evaluated on various criteria including, but not limited to, academic performance, commitment to pursuing the actuarial profession, exam progress, work experience, and leadership experience.
